Your soundbar is only as good as where you put it. Too high, too low, or pointed in the wrong direction and you'll lose much of what makes it great. Here's how to place it right.
Under the TV (Most Common)
Mounting the soundbar directly below the TV — either on a shelf or wall-mounted under a wall-mounted TV — is the most popular and acoustically ideal placement. The sound travels forward and slightly upward toward the listening position.
Above the TV
In some setups (like above a fireplace), the soundbar goes above the TV. This is less ideal acoustically since the sound bounces off the ceiling, but it can work well with proper angle adjustment and room acoustics.
Wall-Mounted with the TV
The cleanest look is having both the TV and soundbar wall-mounted together. The soundbar mounts directly below the TV using a dedicated soundbar bracket, with cables hidden inside the wall. This is our most requested audio setup.
Acoustic Tip
Never place a soundbar inside an entertainment center or enclosed cabinet. The enclosed space kills the sound quality significantly.
- Keep at least 4 inches of clearance between the TV and soundbar
- Soundbar should be centered with the TV horizontally
- Tweeters should be at or near ear level when seated
